Hear G. Love & Special Sauce’s Previously Unreleased Live ‘Cold Beverage’ From 1994

G. Love & Special Sauce will release a remastered, expanded edition of their 1994 self-titled debut album on January 12 via Epic Records/Legacy Recordings. G. Love & Special Sauce (30th Anniversary Expanded Edition) contains audio of a previously unreleased concert previewed by a live version of the group’s breakout single, “Cold Beverage.”
G. Love & Special Sauce arrived on May 10, 1994. The trio — Garrett “G. Love” Dutton (vocals/guitar/harmonica), Jeffrey “The Houseman” Clemens (drums) and James “Jimi Jazz” Prescott (bass) — embarked on a tour in support of the record which included a concert at NYC’s Knitting Factory on July 20, 1994.

The previously unreleased concert is set to appear on G. Love & Special Sauce (30th Anniversary Expanded Edition). A press release for the celebratory release further detailed the live recording:
As a tribute to the trio’s enduring success as a concert act, this newly remastered and expanded edition of their debut boasts 11 live recordings recorded over two sweltering sets at the renowned Knitting Factory in New York City in July of 1994. These captured smoking performances, heard for the first time on this release, anticipates the formidable live draw G. Love & Special Sauce remain to this day, as countless attendees of the beloved mid-‘90s alt-rock H.O.R.D.E. tour (and beyond) can attest.
