Full Show Video & Photo Gallery: The Magpie Salute Returns To New York City

Tonight (Friday, November 17), The Magpie Salute wraps up an extensive 60-date tour in Atlantic City. On Wednesday and Thursday, the band played New York City, where it all started for The Magpie Salute back in January. Today’s Full Show Friday features high-quality video authorized by the band of Wednesday’s show as well as incredible images from photographer Joe Russo.

The Magpie Salute features Black Crowes alumni Rich Robinson, Marc Ford and Sven Pipien along with drummer Joe Magistro and guitarist Nico Bereciartua. Rich’s group also boasts an impressive cast of vocalists, including Robinson himself, Ford, lead singer John Hogg (Hookah Brown, Moke), former Crowes singer Charity White and background singers Adrien Reju and Katrine Ottosen.

Wednesday’s concert was a 20-song affair heavy on material originally performed and recorded by The Black Crowes. The Magpie Salute opened with “Sting Me” and included such Crowes favorites in their set as “Descending,” “She Gave Good Sunflower,” “Title Song” and “Sometimes Salvation.” Ford and Robinson also worked some solo material into the mix along with The Magpie Salute original “Omission.” In addition, TMS has played a vast array of classic rock covers with tunes by Gram Parsons, The Flying Burrito Brothers and Ike & Tina Turner making the setlist on Wednesday.

Rich recently revealed he’s aiming to take The Magpie Salute into the studio for a month to record a double-album focusing on original material.
