Full Show Video: Allman Brothers Family Members Provide Brothers & Sisters Holiday Jam 2017

This past Saturday night, The Funky Biscuit in Boca Raton hosted a tribute to late co-founding Allman Brothers Band members Butch Trucks and Gregg Allman. Brothers & Sisters Annual Holiday Jam featured longtime ABB member Marc Quinones on drums and Gregg Allman Band musical director Scott Sharrard on guitar and many others. Video of the entire set has surfaced thanks to CHeeSeHeaDPRoDuCTioNS with audio taped by Daniel Nolan.

Sharrard and Quinones were joined by bassist Berry Duane Oakley, the son of ABB founding bassist Berry Oakley. Guitarist Ben Sparaco of the Ben Sparaco Band, Crazy Fingers keyboardist Josh Foster, percussionist Rick Geragi, guitarist and vocalist Richie Schmidt also participated as did a horn section of Doug Michael, David Fernandez and Cara Favasoli.

The ensemble kicked off the set with the traditional pairing of “Don’t Want You No More” and “It’s Not My Cross To Bear.” From there, Sharrard led the group through ABB repertoire favorites “Statesboro Blues” and “Stormy Monday.” Classics “Stand Back,” “Dreams,” “Liz Reed,” “Trouble No More” and “Hot ‘Lanta” came next, along with “Please Call Home.” Butch’s daughter Melody Trucks Dugger emerged for “Ain’t Wastin’ Time No More” and “Southbound.” The latter also featured keyboardist John Ginty and Albert Poliak. The trio also contributed to the “One Way Out” encore, which followed a set-closing rendition of “Whipping Post.”
