Full Show Audio: Widespread Panic Plays Second Of Three Nights In St. Augustine

Last night Widespread Panic played the second show of a three-night stand at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre in St. Augustine, Florida. Earlier this week the Southern jam titans announced they would proceed with their scheduled shows in the Sunshine State in the wake of Hurricane Irma, asking fans to bring donations for Feeding Northeast Florida, who were on-site accepting non-perishable food and monetary donations.

Panic kicked off the night with the one-two punch of “Disco” > “Heroes,” with the JoJo Hermann sung “One Arm Steve” up next. A cover of Willie Dixon’s “Weak Brain, Narrow Mind” followed with the Ain’t Life Grand track “Can’t Get High” and “Jaded Tourist” from 2010’s Dirty Side Down following. “Sleeping Man” and a pairing of “Little Kin” > “Thought Sausage” finished off the band’s first set.

John Bell & Co. opened up their must-listen fourth set of the run with David Bromberg’s “Sharon.” “All Time Low,” “Street Dogs For Breakfast” > “Vacation” and “Steven’s Cat” came next. The band kicked things into high gear next with a segue-filled half-hour run that began with the rare pairing of “Driving Song” > “Porch Song.” From there the band dove head first into a 15-minute take on the instrumental “Happy” which included jams on The Doors’ “L.A. Woman” and the Allman Brothers Band’s “Mountain Jam,” before finally segueing back into “Driving Song.” “End Of The Show,” the old-school favorite “Space Wrangler” and “Red Hot Mama” closed things out.

Panic returned to the stage for a double-encore of “Tail Dragger” and “Flat Foot Flewzy.” Widespread Panic conclude their three-night run in St. Augustine tonight.
