Full Show Audio & Videos: Twiddle Welcomes Chris Houser In Covington

By Scott Bernstein Oct 16, 2017 2:05 pm PDT

Vermont jam act Twiddle recently played the Madison Theater in Covington, Kentucky as part of the group’s fall tour. The foursome welcomed old friend Chris Houser of The Werks to sit-in on guitar for four songs.

Twiddle opened the Thursday night show with “Syncopated Healing” and continued on with adventurous versions of “Doinkinbonk!!!” and “Nicodemus Portulay.” Houser then emerged to help out on the “Apples” set closer. Former The Werks bassist Dino Dimitrouleas came out in the middle of the song and put Twiddle guitarist/vocalist Mihali Savoulidis on his shoulders. Mihali continued to play and sing aboard Dino’s shoulders.

The second set began with Houser joining Twiddle for “New Sun.” From there, Twiddle reeled off versions of “Brick Of Barley” and “Tom’s Song” ahead of the band’s first cover of “Folsom Prison Blues” in 58 shows. Houser then returned to the stage to augment Twiddle on “The Box” to close the frame. Twiddle and their guest had one more surprise in store for the finale, as the band and Houser performed “Let It Be” by The Beatles for the encore. “Let It Be” was a Twiddle debut.

Next up for Twiddle is a show in Seattle on Thursday.
