Full Show Audio: Pink Talking Fish Presents ‘A Live One’ Concept At Nectar’s

Phish/Talking Heads/Pink Floyd tribute act Pink Talking Fish took the stage at Nectar’s in Burlington, Vermont on Saturday night. PTF honored the city and venue that helped birth Phish by working each and every song from the Vermonters’ 1995 live album A Live One into their performance which also featured a handful of special guests.

The quartet opened Saturday’s show the same way A Live One begins, with “Bouncing Around The Room.” Percussionist Craig Myers of Mike Gordon’s band then emerged to add to “Nothing But The Flowers.” Myers stuck around and saxophonist Dave “The Truth” Grippo joined in for “Stash” and later in the set the pair augmented PTF on “Gumbo” and “Life During Wartime.” Pink Talking Fish’s first set was also highlighted by a wild “You Enjoy Myself” sequence that included contributions from Myers and vocalist Hayley Jane singing on “Moon Rocks” and a “YEM” vocal jam.

Saturday’s second set opened with “Astronomy Domine” before PTF worked “Once In A Lifetime” into “Wilson.” Craig Myers contributed to “Once In A Lifetime” as well as “Another Brick In The Wall” > “Tweezer” > “Burning Down The House” and “Big Business” later in the set. The closing stanza was brought to its conclusion with a “Squirming Coil” that included a bit of The Beatles’ “Something.” For the encore, Pink Talking Fish and Craig Myers said farewell with “Tweezer Reprise.”
