Michigan’s Greensky Bluegrass concluded Winter Tour with a pair of sold-out shows at The Vic in Chicago on Friday and Saturday nights. Saturday’s Winter Tour finale featured guest spots from members of opening act Fruition, a tribute to a local baseball team and a wild encore.

Greensky opened with “Demons” on Saturday and later in the first set welcomed Fruition’s Jay Cobb Anderson for “Fixin’ To Ruin.” Then, GSBG was joined by Anderson and his Fruition band mates Mimi Naja and Kellen Asebroek on “Jaywalking” and “Death Comes Knockin'” ahead of the “Living Over” set closer.

The five-piece kicked off the second set with “Take Cover” and worked Steve Goodman’s “Go Cubs Go” within. Saturday’s closing stanza also was highlighted by a “The Four” > “Hold On” > “When Doves Cry” sequence and a pairing of their own “Leap Year” with Pink Floyd covers “Time” and “Breathe.” The evening’s encore saw Greensky fit in teases of many songs including those performed in the first set into an expansive “Don’t Lie.”
