Portland-based Fruition will release a new studio EP entitled Fire on August 17, the day before they return to Red Rocks Amphitheatre in support of Railroad Earth. Official video footage of Fruition performing the EP’s title track from their visit last year to the majestic outdoor venue in Morrison, Colorado was shared by the band.
Three of the four tracks on Fire (“Baby Let’s Go,” “Fire” and “Dirty Thieves”) were recorded with producer Tucker Martine during the sessions held for the band’s LP Watching It All Fall Apart that came out in February. Fruition’s Tyler Thompson produced and engineered the track “New Colossus.”
Proceeds from the digital and streaming sales for the first three months that the tracks “Dirty Thieves” and “New Colossus” will be donated to charities associated with the topics that influenced the songs. San Francisco’s Community Housing Partnership will receive initial proceeds for sales of “Dirty Thieves,” which was written by Jay Cobb Anderson after the band’s van was burglarized while Fruition performed a show at Brick & Mortar in San Francisco. The National Immigration Law Center will benefit from early sales of “New Colossus,” which Kellen Asebroek wrote utilizing Emma Lazarus’ poem of the same name that is engraved on the base of the Statue of Liberty.
