Twiddle :: 6.3.16 :: Fox Theatre :: Boulder, CO

Last week Vermont-based jam quartet Twiddle headed to Colorado to hold a special concert at the Fox Theatre in Boulder ahead of their appearance with the Disco Biscuits at Red Rocks the following night. Guitarist Mihali Savoulidis, drummer Brook Jordan, bassist Zdenek Gubb and keyboardist Ryan Dempsey welcomed a number of guests during the show that included three full sets. The opening set featured Savoulidis playing acoustic guitar on such songs as the opening “Blueberry Tumble,” “Subconscious Prelude” and the closing commonly paired “Hatti’s Jam” > “When It Rains, It Poors.”

The all-electric second set saw Twiddle joined by regular collaborators The Frendly Horns throughout the six-song performance. Elongated versions of “Amydst The Myst,” “Latin Tang” and “Tiberius” highlighted the horn-augmented portion of the night. Set three launched with a well-jammed “Mamunes The Faun” which was followed by a rendition “The Box” with Big Gigantic’s Jeremy Salken replacing Jordan on drums. Twiddle closed out the eventful night with “Earth Mama” and “Doinkinbonk!!!,” returning to offer “Collective Pulse” for the encore finale.
