Frankie and the Witch Fingers shared a new single, “Bonehead.” The track is the first taste of a new project the Los Angeles-based psych-rockers have in the works set for release this year.
“Bonehead” marks Frankie and the Witch Fingers’ first new music since releasing Data Doom in September 2023. Last year’s LP saw co-founders Dylan Sizemore (vocals, guitar) and Josh Menashe (lead guitar, synth) joined by former Death Valley Girls member bassist Nikki “Pickle” Smith and drummer Nick Aguilar, who previously played with punk legend Mike Watt. Data Doom marked the rhythm section’s first studio album with Frankie and the Witch Fingers.

The quartet is now back with “Bonehead,” which the band commented on:
“‘Bonehead’ is a primitive, buzzy thumper, raw and stripped down. In a world where it’s easy to add more, we had a blast cooking out the junk and keeping it potent and pure. We wanted to capture the chaotic energy of those unfiltered live moments. Recorded the basics in one take, warts and all.
“Thrashing around with a crowd of free spirits reminds us we can push back against the parasitic noise trying to keep us controlled—this is a little slice of that in recorded form.”
