The Foo Fighters, who are set to play a handful of European shows starting this weekend, today announced that they have added an additional show to their schedule at an ancient, historical site in Greece. The band has revealed that they will play a special one-off gig at the Acropolis of Athens, Greece on July 10.
The show is set to be filmed for an episode of the PBS’ docu-series Landmarks Live in Concert, which highlights live shows from iconic locations around the world, and will air this fall. Ticketing information is currently available at the Tickethour site, with sales to benefit an unspecified local Greek charity.
The series, which is hosted by Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, premiered earlier this year with a episode that featured singer Alicia Keys performing at Harlem’s famed Apollo Theater. The second installment of Landmarks Live In Concert will air tonight on your local PBS station and with a performance by Andrea Bocelli at Florence’s Palazzo Vecchio.
