Foo Fighters Treat Italian Viral Video Performers To Concert
By Scott Bernstein Nov 4, 2015 • 7:30 am PST

A group of 1,000 Foo Fighters came together in the Italian town of Cesena over the summer to film a version of “Learn To Fly” in hopes the clip would get the attention of the band and that the group would perform in their part of Italy. The video quickly went viral leading Dave Grohl to say he would bring the band to Cesena. Last night Foo Fighters kept their part of the bargain with a performance at Carisport in the Italian town.
The band came out with…you guessed it – “Learn To Fly.” If the video below is any indication, the small but devoted crowd went nuts for “their” song. Foo Fighters brought out video creator Fabio Zaffagnini who gave his thanks to the band and received a rousing ovation and cheers of “Ole! Ole! Ole! Fabio! Fabio!” from the crowd. Dave Grohl & Co. also brought up the “mohawk guy” from the viral video to perform on a cover of “Under Pressure.” Beyond that, the show had a setlist similar to other Foo 2015 shows.
“To see you people singing our song for the whole fucking world, to me, it’s the greatest moment of my life,” Dave Grohl told the audience as per Consequence of Sound. “Of course we couldn’t say no, we had to come. You trapped us, we had to come here.” The singer/guitarist went on to implore fans to work their viral video magic on other rock bands.
