Foo Fighters Share ‘Making Of Concrete & Gold’ Animated Video

Foo Fighters today issued a new studio album entitled Concrete & Gold. The band also today shared an animated video detailing the making of the group’s ninth LP.

Narrated by Dave Grohl, the six-minute short begins with the frontman detailing his being inspired by hearing a The Bird And The Bee song on the radio four years ago. A subsequent chance meeting in Hawaii between Grohl and The Bird And The Bee’s Greg Kurstin led to a friendship forming between the two. Following Kurstin’s success producing pop stars like Adele and Sia, a second meeting in Hawaii led to Grohl drunkenly revealing he wanted Kurstin to produce Foo Fighters.

Grohl goes on to detail tracking Concrete & Gold with Kurstin at the historic East West recording studios on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. Check out the video below to learn how Boyz II Men’s Shawn Stockman, as well as Dave Koz, Justin Timberlake and others appeared as guests on the new record:
