Foo Fighters’ Pat Smear To Miss A Few Shows After Breaking Foot

Foo Fighters guitarist Pat Smear will sit out “a few shows” as he recovers from a foot injury. FF added levity to the situation by announcing Pat’s absence with a Spinal Tap reference.
In the 1984 mockumentary, This Is Spinal Tap, the band’s many drummers seem to be cursed, with one of them dying in a “bizarre gardening accident.” Foo Fighters played on this in their announcement of Pat Smear’s accident:
As noted, guitarist Jason Falkner will fill in for Pat. Foo’s next showing in Mexico this weekend ahead of their food drive benefit concert at the Forum in Los Angeles on January 14. The band also has an appearance in Australia later this month, their last show on the books until May.
