Foggy Otis Honors Brent Mydland Of Grateful Dead

Sunday marked 25 years since the tragic death of Brent Mydland, the longest tenured keyboardist in the history of the Grateful Dead. Singer- songwriter Foggy Otis cooked up a beautiful tribute to Mydland that he performed at Club Helsinki in Hudson, New York.

“I Will Take You Home” is a beautiful lullaby Mydland and John Perry Barlow wrote for Brent’s daughters. The song became the emotional centerpiece of a number of Grateful Dead second sets between its 1988 debut and Brent’s 1990 death. Foggy Otis is a ukulele player who doesn’t use the instrument as a prop or punchline. Watch the beautiful rendition of “I Will Take You Home” Otis laid down in Hudson recently:
