Flying Lotus will deliver a total of eight shows at the Blue Note in New York City as well as the famed jazz club’s new Los Angeles location this summer. The acclaimed producer will perform with his live band for the full run.
Flying Lotus and band will first hit Blue Note NYC on July 8 and 9, with shows at 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. The musicians will then flip coasts, heading to Blue Note LA on July 11 and 12, with shows at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
Press materials further detailed the atmosphere around the Flying Lotus Blue Note residency:
The shows mark a rare and immersive live band experience from one of the most singular creative forces in contemporary music. A Grammy-winning producer and Pitchfork-designated icon of the past 25 years, Flying Lotus has spent his career dissolving the boundaries between jazz, hip-hop, and the futuristic and unknown. His lineage alone hints at the depth of his roots: he is a relation of both Alice Coltrane and Motown songwriter Marilyn McLeod, and over the course of seven critically acclaimed studio albums, has collaborated with everyone from Kendrick Lamar, Thom Yorke, Erykah Badu, and David Lynch to his longtime friend and musical partner, Thundercat. These Blue Note performances arrive at a particularly meaningful moment: 2026 marks the 20th anniversary of Flying Lotus’s debut full-length album, 1983. The run of shows offers a rare opportunity to witness the full arc of that career rendered live at the Blue Note.
An artist pre-sale starts Wednesday, May 14 at 10 a.m. local. General onsales kick off on Friday, May 15 at 10 a.m. local.
