FloydFest 17 – Freedom will take place July 26 – 30, 2017 at Milepost 170.5 on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Floyd, Virginia featuring Michael Franti & Spearhead, St. Paul & the Broken Bones, Railroad Earth, Shovels & Rope, White Denim, Turkuaz, Fruition and more. Today, organizers of the long running festival have added 17 acts to the lineup for next summer’s event.
Leftover Salmon, Steel Pulse, TAUK, Aaron Lee Tasjan, T Sisters, Banditos and Jon Stickley Trio are among the FloydFest ’17 acts revealed today. More additions are expected next month and through early Spring. The 2017 installment of FloydFest is sub-titled Freedom. “Freedom is creating your own reality,” producer and CEO Kris Hodges explained. “Freedom to be yourself takes discipline, and we’ve tread that path for 17 years now. But we’re still here; still free to live life; free to be artists, without being told how to live; free to create art and stay viable in the world today.”
In addition to the music on 9+ stages, FloydFest attendees can expect offerings from vibrant and varied vendors, quality craft brews and chews, healing arts, workshops and whimsy, children’s activities, onsite art installations and more. A variety of ticket packages are on sale now here.
