9-Year-Old John Kimock Guests With KVHW On This Date In 1998
By Scott Bernstein Dec 26, 2014 • 9:15 am PST

Drummer has been a fixture in his father’s, guitarist Steve Kimock, multiple projects for well over a decade at this point. On this day in 1998, the younger Kimock impressed a large crowd gathered at Wetlands Preserve, when he sat in with his dad and KVHW at the iconic New York City club.
John Morgan Kimock emerged at the beginning of KVHW’s second set during the band’s post-Christmas show to share Alan Hertz’s drum set on a jam and the original “Spring Water.” Though John focuses on high hat and Hertz does most of the heavy lifting, the young Kimock’s talent shines through even at age nine.
