Over the weekend Wayne Coyne revealed on Instagram that the Flaming Lips are working on a cover of The Beatles’s “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds” featuring Miley Cyrus and Andrew VanWyngarden of MGMT. According to The Future Heart, the track will be part of a tribute to Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band the Lips are recording with their musical friends.

The Future Heart reports that Coyne is contacting Tame Impala, Phantogram and Foxygen to possibly contribute to the project that follows in a line of Flaming Lips cover albums such as their takes on Dark Side Of The Moon and In The Court Of The Crimson King. In a recent interview the Flaming Lips’s Steven Drozd shared that “We’re trying to get (Foxygen) to do a Sgt. Pepper track, I think we’re talking to MGMT, trying to get a bunch of different bands. We’ve done a couple of these things but I think Wayne is trying to make this one a little more high-profile, more stuff going on, more things connected. It’s still in the very early stages though, so I can’t say too much about it.”

We await more word on the project, but for now take a listen to a version of “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds” the Flaming Lips shared:
