The Flaming Lips shared video of their classic song, “Christmas at the Zoo.” The hometown performance is fittingly from the Oklahoma City Zoo Amphitheater.
The Lips delivered a two-night run at the renowned Oklahoma City Zoo Amphitheater on August 30 and 31, kicking off an extensive late summer/fall tour for the psychedelic rockers. At the OKC Zoo, Christmas came early as attendees were treated to “Christmas at the Zoo,” off The Flaming Lips’ 1995 album, Clouds Taste Metallic.

The song arrived with The Lips’ typically brilliant fanfare including blow-up animals tossed into the crowd. Frontman Wayne Coyne also coaxed out the inner-animal in the audience as the main character in the song does in trying to break the animals out of the zoo.
