Fiya Fest 2015 Announces Lineup

The lineup for the 2015 Fiya Fest Crawfish Boil & Benefit for the Roots of Music was announced and includes an impressive array of one-off collaborations. Produced annually by Fiyawerx Productions and taking place during Jazz Fest, the single-day Fiya Fest is slated for May 1 at Mardi Gras World in New Orleans. The Meters, Galactic, Trey Anastasio Band and The Revivalists are just a few of the many bands whose members will be appearing in NOLA.

Here’s a look at the current list of collaborative projects slated to hit up Mardi Gras World:

Look for an announcement of the Fiya Fest headliner soon. Fiya Fest is held to benefit The Roots of Music program and New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic (NOMC). The Roots of Music is an organization that helps to preserve and promote the local NOLA music culture through youth music education and support, serving low-income communities and providing free opportunities for the children of New Orleans. The NOMC is a new addition to the festival’s charity donations, and the group offers affordable health care options for the musicians of New Orleans.
Fiyawerx Productions will also host the first of its Steamboat Natchez series during Jazz Fest featuring The Revivalists with special guests Papa Mali, June Yamagishi, Brain Stoltz, Pete Murano, Nate Werth and Carly Meyers, along with Stanton Moore, Skerik, DJ Otto and Manic Focus on Friday, April 24.
The next day, Fiya Water III will take place as part of the Steamboat Natchez series featuring Oteil Burbridge, Ivan Neville, Eric Krasno, Adam Deitch, Roosevelt Collier, Maurice Brown, Kebbi Williams, Saunders Sermons and The Heard.
Additionally, Fiyawerx will host a late night Fiya Powa! gig at The Maison on Thursday, April 30 featuring George Porter Jr., Ivan Neville, Stanton Moore, Karl Denson, Tony Hall, Big Sam, Roosevelt Collier and Jennifer Hartswick.
