The devastating wildfires in the greater Los Angeles area have taken 27 lives as of January 16. The climate-change fueled fire event has displaced over 2000,000 people and destroyed over 12,000 structures. The fires are ongoing, with the National Weather Service warning that fire conditions will worsen this week after a lull in the dangerous winds allowed firefighters to gain ground in the Eaton and Palisades fires.
