Father John Misty Covers Gillian Welch For ‘Spotify Singles’

Father John Misty was a recent participant in the ongoing Spotify Singles live release series. The session at Spotify Studios in New York City produced a live rendition of a song from the recently released LP God’s Favorite Customer and a cover of a song written by Gillian Welch.

Josh Tillman led his group through a performance of “Mr. Tillman,” which was issued alongside nine other tracks on the third Father John Misty album overall. A cover of Welch’s “Everything Is Free” from her outstanding 2001 album Time (The Revelator) was also performed by Tillman & Co. Stream both tracks below:
