Father John Misty Covers ‘Closer’ By Nine Inch Nails In Chicago

Last night, J Tillman and his band – aka Father John Misty – brought their current tour to the Riviera Theatre in Chicago. Tillman advised the audience, “It’s a little sappy, but I would like to play my favorite love song.” With that, the band launched into a cover of “Closer” by Nine Inch Nails.

“Closer” joined an eclectic batch of covers Father John Misty has performed over the years which also includes The Beatles’ “Happiness Is A Warm Gun,” Leonard Cohen’s “I’m Your Man,” Rihanna’s “Kiss It Better” and Nirvana’s “Heart Shaped Box.” Watch footage of last night’s “Closer” which was shared by the band on YouTube:
