Father John Misty Announces New Album ‘God’s Favorite Customer’ & Shares Singles

Father John Misty will issue a new album God’s Favorite Customer on June 1 via Sub Pop Records and Bella Union. The singles “Just Dumb Enough To Try” and “Disappointing Diamonds Are The Rarest Of Them All” are now available to stream or download.

Frontman Josh Tillman told an audience in Australia last July that a follow-up to 2017’s Pure Comedy was coming in 2018. The fourth FJM album, God’s Favorite Customer was “written largely in New York between Summer 2016 and Winter 2017” and produced by Tillman with assistance from Foxygen’s Jonathan Rado, Dave Cerminara and Trevor Spencer.

Among those contributing to the 10-track LP were Tillman’s longtime collaborator (and Pure Comedy producer) Jonathan Wilson, Haxan Cloak, Weyes Blood’s Natalie Mering and members of the Father John Misty touring band.
