Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews will continue in their traditional roles as Farm Aid headliners in 2019. The Farm Aid board members and many others will perform at a benefit for family farmers that will be held at Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wisconsin on September 21.

Bonnie Raitt, Tanya Tucker, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Lukas Nelson & Promise of The Real, Jamey Johnson and Margo Price are also among the acts aboard for this year’s Farm Aid. Matthews will perform with Tim Reynolds at the 34th annual Farm Aid. Additional artists will be announced in the weeks to come.

The first Farm Aid was put together in 1985 and over $53 million has been raised for family farmers ever since. September’s benefit will be the first time Alpine Valley has hosted the event. “With devastating weather, low prices and harmful farm and trade policies, America’s family farmers are facing immense challenges to hold on to their farms,” Willie Nelson said in a statement. “It’s not right… family farmers are essential for all of us. By bringing our festival to the heart of the struggle, we will stand side by side with farmers. At Farm Aid 2019, we’ll highlight solutions and show our support for family farmers’ contributions to our health, economy and environment.”

“We’re bringing Farm Aid to the heartland because we need to show the country what’s happening to the people who grow our food and take care of our soil and water,” Mellencamp explained. “We want family farmers to know that we won’t let them go down without a fight. And neither should you — farmers need us, and we need farmers.”

A pre-sale begins on Wednesday, July 10 at 10 a.m. CT via the event’s website. Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday, July 12 at 10 a.m. CT through LiveNation.com.
