Farm Aid 1985 Highlights

For its 30th anniversary Farm Aid will be held at FirstMerit Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island in Chicago on September 19. Staged a many venues around the country over the past three decades, this year the benefit concert returns to the state where it was first held back on September 22, 1985 at Memorial Stadium on the campus of the University of Illinois. Many memorable performances have taken place over the years, including by original organizers Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp and Neil Young.

Below is a collection of official videos recorded at the first Farm Aid 30 years ago. Included in the footage are performances by Young, Nelson and Mellencamp as well as Joni Mitchell, The Highwaymen, Billy Joel, Daryl Hall, Waylon Jennings, Bonnie Raitt and The Beach Boys.
