The Huichica East two-day camping festival begins tomorrow, August 25 and runs through Saturday, August 26 at Chaseholm Farm in Pine Plains, New York. Charles Bradley & The Extraordinaires were supposed to perform at Huichica East ’17, but Bradley has cancelled due to continuing health issues. The Extraordinaires will play a special tribute set to Charles to close out the festival on Saturday.

Here is an official statement from Charles’ management:

Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires have been forced to cancel their appearance at Huichica East Festival this weekend, as Mr. Bradley continues to recover from Colitis. He regrets that he won’t see his fans, but does hope to return to the stage soon.

Read an official statement from Huichica East organizers:

We are very sad to hear that Charles Bradley will not be able to play Huichica East this weekend in Hudson Valley. His soulful and honest music has helped so many heal and now he needs to focus on his own healing so he can continue to spread his musical message of love, hope and positivity into the hearts of music lovers all over the world. Our prayers are with Charles at this difficult time.

We are excited to announce that his amazing band The Extraordinaires will play a closing tribute set to Charles on Saturday night at Huichica East after Cass McCombs Band. Light a candle and bring your dancing shoes to Pine Plains because Saturday night’s Extraordinaires tribute set to Charles Bradley at Chaseholm Farm will not be one to miss.

Charles Bradley cancelled a number of late 2016 and early 2017 performances after a cancerous tumor was found in his stomach. Our thoughts are with Charles on a quick recovery.

Organizers also announced the addition of a shuttle running from the Hudson and Wassaic train stations (last stations out of New York City) to and from the festival grounds. More information can be found here. Cass McCombs Band, Mattson 2, Real Estate and Doug Tuttle are just a few of the acts set to play Huichica this weekend.
