The 2018 Northwest String Summit will be held in North Plains, Oregon on July 19 – 22. Greensky Bluegrass is among the acts returning to Horning’s Hideout for this year’s event and JamBase is pleased to exclusively premiere an official video capturing a highlight of last year’s GSBG performance.
Greensky Bluegrass will appear at the 17th annual NWSS for two sets on Thursday, July 19 and again for a late night set on Friday, July 20. GSBG will hold their final performance at this year’s festival with a set on the main stage on Saturday, July 21. Additional artists on the 2018 lineup include Yonder Mountain String Band, Railroad Earth, Leftover Salmon, The Infamous Stringdusters, Keller Williams & The Andys, Fruition, Mandolin Orange, The Lil Smokies, Steep Canyon Rangers, Dustbowl Revival, Jon Stickley Trio, Front Country, Danny Barnes, Darol Anger & The Furies, Old Salt Union and others.
At last year’s NWSS, Greensky’s bassist Mike Devol was unable to perform due to the birth of his son, Jude and Johnny Grubb was tapped to fill-in. The band’s show was livestreamed by JamGrass.tv and with Devol and his family at home watching, GSBG encored with a rendition of The Beatles “Hey Jude.” A number of fellow musicians and NWSS staff members came onstage to assist on the song’s closing refrain.
