On Friday, Colorado’s Leftover Salmon will release their new live album 25 via iTunes and other digital outlets. The LP features 25 never before released live recordings from 2013 and 2014 mixing classics with well-known covers. JamBase and LoS have teamed up to offer a free stream of 25 for one day only ahead of its digital release as a Thanksgiving treat.
Read what the band has to say about 25:
Here’s a taste of 25 year old Leftovers for you folks, featuring songs we made up and songs we’ve dug up along the way, all recorded live sometime in 2013 or 2014. We wanted to celebrate our years of being able to make music in beautiful places for beautiful people with this digital collection before you. Clocking in at nearly three hours of music it stretches the definition of what an ‘album’ is at a time when music delivery systems are rapidly changing. So do with this what you want. Play the whole thing at a party, take a long road trip, block out the sound of the fracking well next door, drive your parents and neighbors insane by playing it over and over. We sure enjoyed making it, now it’s your turn. Here’s to the next 25 years!
With that in mind, here’s the premiere of Leftover Salmon’s 25:
25 will be available for streaming until 12 p.m. ET on Friday. The album will be available for purchase via iTunes and Google Play starting on Friday.
JamBase is giving away five Leftover Salmon 25 prize packages, each including a signed album, digital album download code and LoS t-shirt. Head here to enter. Leftover Salmon returns to the stage on Friday night for the first of two Thanksgiving Weekend shows at the Boulder Theater in Boulder, Colorado. The Jeff Austin Band will open each night.
