Exclusive Premiere | JFJO Betamax & Bounce Mash-up Video

Earlier this month longtime JamBase favorites Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey (JFJO) released their latest studio album, Worker, via Royal Potato Family. Worker marks a huge shift for JFJO, as the lineup has been paired down to the trio of Brian Haas (keyboards), Chris Combs (guitar, lap steel) and Josh Raymer (drums). Despite the change in lineup, Worker shows the adventurous spirit JFJO has always been known for is still alive and well as the band continues to tread new, exciting ground.

Today, we’re pleased to premiere a deliciously weird video that combines two of our favorite tracks off Worker. “The video is based on a mash-up of songs, ‘Betamax’ and ‘Bounce,’ from our new album, Worker. It’s the creation of our friend Joe Cappa using stop-time animation. The results are interstellar. Our new album, Worker, is about the intergalactic worker of the future. The video features one man’s weekend pastime when he’s not welding pneumatic car ways for the masses,” JFJO’s Brian Haas explains to JamBase.

With that in mind, watch the trippy animated video for the “Betamax”/”Bounce” mash-up:
