Exclusive Premiere: Jack Johnson To Appear On ‘Front And Center’
Singer/songwriter Jack Johnson will appear in a new episode of the long-running live music series Front And Center. The episode featuring Johnson, his band and special guest G. Love will begin to air on February 24 in select markets. JamBase is pleased to premiere a song from the upcoming installment of Front And Center as well as a preview of the episode.
The current season of the PBS series is the eighth of Front And Center. Jack Johnson’s recent performance at the McKittrick Hotel in New York City was filmed for the soon-to-be-unveiled episode. The Hawaiian singer/songwriter’s band features Zach Gill of ALO on keyboards. Look for the installment to feature a mix of some of Jack’s greatest hits and new material including “Better Together” and “Good People.”
In 2006, G. Love released Lemonade, his second solo album. The LP features a number of guest appearances including Jack Johnson on “Rainbow.” The exclusive premiere of “Rainbow” from the new episode of Front And Center can be viewed below. G. Love reveals he played the song with Jack the first day he met Johnson. A second video shared below finds Jack Johnson talking about how he gets nervous before taking the stage, but usually calms down within the first few songs. He also reveals he grew up making surf films and it’s still strange for him to be on the other side of the camera. Johnson discusses how he hopes his songs connect with listeners as he aims to take something that’s very personal to him and make them general enough that they engage those who hear them.
