Florida-based tropical indie pop act The Hip Abduction enlisted their ever-growing fanbase to contribute to the video for “Come Alive.” The band asked fans to send them footage of “you and your friends being awesome while ‘Come Alive’ is playing” and they received over 300 submissions. Today, JamBase is pleased to premiere the resulting video for “Come Alive” and announce that The Hip Abduction has been added to the lineup for Jam Cruise 15.

The Hip Abduction vocalist/guitarist David New talked to JamBase about the track off Gold Under The Glow, “‘Come Alive’ is about learning to cope with the unknown. In my case, and more specifically, anxiety. A reoccurring dream that involved wolves, eventually led me to stop worrying so much. I know we all deal with these issues in our own ways and sometimes folks go their whole lives without mentioning anything to anyone. It’s crazy that we spend so much of our lives worrying about the past (guilt), or the future (anxiety), that it prevents the present from being fully lived.”

New also discussed the fan submissions, “We thought that a fan video of folks doing whatever makes them feel alive would convey the message perfectly. They did a fabulous job! Our fans are quite the badasses. It was super cool to have this many fans submit videos…the only issue was we couldn’t fit them all in!”

With that in mind, watch the video for THA’s “Come Alive”:
