Exclusive Premiere: BIG Something Unveil ‘Song For Us’ From New Album

Powerhouse six-piece Big Something are gearing up to release their latest studio album, Tumbleweed, on February 24. The LP is currently available for pre-order through a Kickstarter campaign that runs through Friday. This afternoon, JamBase is pleased to premiere “Song For Us” off Tumbleweed.

BIG Something features Ben Vinograd (drums), Doug Marshall (bass), Josh Kagel (keys, trumpet), Casey Cranford (saxophone, EWI), Jesse Hensley (lead guitar) and Nick MacDaniels (vocals, guitar). The band has a busy next few months ahead as not only will they release Tumbleweed, but they will mix headlining concerts, gigs supporting Umphrey’s McGee and appearances at festivals such as RIDE, High Sierra and Floyd Fest.

“Song For Us” is the latest taste of Tumbleweed BIG Something has shared. “Even though we’re more of a rock band at our core, we also love to dabble in reggae from time to time and this song in particular has got a lot of positive energy that comes from that island vibe and the message in the lyrics. We like to write songs where you can find your own meaning in the words. For me personally this song is kind of a dedication to all the amazing people we share our journey with. It also serves as a reminder that our time together is a gift and that it’s important to stay positive no matter how difficult and crazy life can get; that there’s still a long way to go and that you can always get back on the right track no matter how many wrong turns you take,” MacDaniels tells us about the tune.
