Gov’t Mule held the first of two shows in Nevada last night, setting up shop at the MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa in Stateline, Nevada. The performance featured a sit-in by special guest guitarist Eric McFadden.

“Mule” opened Mule’s first set in Stateline Friday night, followed by “Going Out West.” Set one also saw guitarist Warren Haynes work elements of “Shakedown Street” and “Getaway” into a rendition of “Rocking Horse” that segued into The Allman Brothers Band’s “Dreams.” The second set included a cover of “Smokestack Lightning” within “Lay Your Burden Down” and a lengthy “Unring The Bell.” A cover of Jimi Hendrix’s “If 6 Was 9” was incorporated into “Larger Than Life,” followed by “Slackjaw Jezebel” to close out the set.

One-time P-Funk All-Star member and keyboardist Danny Louis’ Stockholm Syndrome band mate Eric McFadden emerged for the encore that began with Funkadelic’s “Maggot Brain.” The guest guitarist stayed on stage for a transition into Robert Johnson’s “32/20 Blues” that closed out the concert. Mule heads over to Las Vegas for a show at Brooklyn Bowl tonight. View audience-shot video footage captured by btragal below:
