Eric Clapton will release a concert film and live album entitled Nothing But The Blues on June 24 via Reprise Records in a variety of formats. The legendary guitarist previewed the upcoming release with video of “Have You Ever Loved A Woman.”

Written and produced by Scooter Weintraub and executive produced by Martin Scorsese, Clapton’s Nothing But The Blues documentary was broadcast once in 1995 by PBS and garnered an Emmy Nomination. For its official release, Nothing But The Blues has received the 4K treatment and boasts an interview with Eric conducted by Scorsese. In the interview, the guitarist discusses his love for the blues along with towering figures in the genre who influenced him like Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Robert Johnson, Howlin’ Wolf, Buddy Guy and more along with performance footage, interviews and photographs of those legendary artists as well.

At the core of the film, however, is a live Eric Clapton performance captured at The Fillmore in San Francisco on November 8 and 9, 1994. The two-night stand in San Fran came during Clapton’s tour around his Grammy-winning 1994 blues album From The Cradle.

Nothing But The Blues boasts highights of the Bay Area performances — remixed from the original multi-tracks by longtime Clapton collaborator Simon Climie — including songs that appear on From The Cradle like Robert Hicks’ “Motherless Child,” Muddy Waters’ “Standing ’Round Crying,” and Freddie King’s “I’m Tore Down.” The Fillmore run also featured tunes that aren’t on From The Cradle including Jimmy Rogers’ “Blues All Day Long” and Robert Johnson’s “Malted Milk” along with the standards “Every Day I Have The Blues” and “Forty-Four” as well as the aforementioned “Have You Ever Loved A Woman,” first recorded by Freddie King.
