Guitar god Eric Clapton will bring his 70th birthday celebration to Madison Square Garden in New York City on May 1 and 2. Clapton gigs have become more rare in recent years with “Slowhand” hinting he may retire from the road after 2015.

Both dates are scheduled to change due to a potential conflict with a playoff game. Chase cardholders will be able to buy tickets starting on Monday, March 16 starting at 11 a.m. ET. The general onsale follows on Friday, March 20 at 11 a.m. ET via Ticketmaster. The show will feature Eric, accompanied by his band members Paul Carrack, Steve Gadd, Nathan East, Chris Stainton, Sharon White and Michelle John, with opening support act Andy Fairweather Low and the Low Riders.
Eric Clapton opened the current Madison Square Garden with Cream on November 2, 1968. Clapton has played MSG more than any other American venue over the course of his illustrious career.
