EOTO, a livetronica duo featuring members of The String Cheese Incident, has broken up. Michael Travis and Jason Hann announced “due to irreconcilable creative differences we will no longer be appearing as EOTO” on the band’s social media pages.

Travis and Hann formed EOTO in 2006, one year after Jason joined The String Cheese Incident. EOTO was known for their improv-heavy, EDM-tinged performances which often came late at night.

Hi guys! We hope everyone is thriving in these uncertain times. What a life changing passage this has been! We have recently had numerous questions about when we might appear again and we wanted to clear that up. Due to irreconcilable creative differences we will no longer be appearing as EOTO. Thank you for all your love and support over the years! What an amazing and beautiful ride! We will cherish this chapter forever!

Both members of the group utilized various instruments throughout EOTO performances and also worked in samples. The pair released their debut studio album, Elephants Only Talk Occasionally, via SCI Fidelity in 2006. Razed followed in 2008 with Fire The Lazers!!! was unveiled in 2009. Additionally, ETO issued a series of K-Turns & U-Turns live compilations.

The last EOTO live performance took place as part of the skiDM festival at 10 Mile Music Hall in Frisco, Colorado on February 23. Hann and Travis’ set brought the first leg of their Winter Tour 2020 to a close. The second leg was canceled due to the pandemic. EOTO was supposed to perform at the 2021 Summer Camp Music Festival next month.
