Stephen Colbert welcomed his “favorite rock artist of all-time,” Elvis Costello, for an appearance on Wednesday’s A Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Elvis spoke with Stephen and performed a pair of songs with Jon Batiste, the leader of the program’s house band.

Costello teamed with Batiste for “Hey Clockface,” the title track from his upcoming album. Hey Clockface drops tomorrow, October 30, via Concord Records. Elvis and Jon also filmed a web exclusive performance of “Party Girl” from Costello’s 1979 LP, Armed Forces.

The performance came after Elvis chatted with Stephen via a video conference. Costello recalled his reaction when the pandemic first led to the cancelation of his tour and how he’s been holding up. Elvis also spoke about his prolific ways. Finally, Costello read what he feels is the perfect song for a Trump Rally.
