Each week for the past four Wednesdays, Ed Helms hosted the Whiskey Sour Happy Hour livestreamed video series that incorporated acoustic music, comedy and interviews in conjunction with The Bluegrass Situation. Helms welcomed a bevy of special guests over the past few weeks and ended last night’s finale with a Whiskey Sour Happy Hour Superjam version of “The Weight” by The Band.

The variety show took its name from Ed Helms’ Whiskey Sour Radio Hour performances at the Largo in Los Angeles and fit a similar format, adapted for the shelter-in-place restrictions. Wednesday’s finale featured Indigo Girls, Mandy Moore, Chris Thile, Stephen Colbert, Béla Fleck and Abigail Washburn, Rosanne Cash and others. “I hope that this show has been a burst of positive energy for you,” Helms said towards the end of the episode. “We’re going to get through it by relying on each other and stepping up for each other,” the actor/musician added before introducing the Superjam version of “The Weight” featuring a number of the musicians who appeared on the show over the past month.
