Eagles Dust Off ‘Walk Away’ In Greensboro

By Scott Bernstein Oct 19, 2017 10:01 am PDT

Legendary band the Eagles began their first tour following the death of founding member Glenn Frey at Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina on Tuesday night. The revised lineup featuring new members Deacon Frey, Vince Gill and a horn section delivered a 23-song performance that included the return of a James Gang classic.

Eagles’ guitarist Joe Walsh penned “Walk Away” for inclusion on The James Gang’s 1971 album Thirds. Walsh went on to join the Eagles in 1975 and the group would often perform “Walk Away.” While the song often made Eagles’ setlists after the band’s 1994 reunion it had been shelved since March 23, 2013 as per Setlist.FM’s stats. The Eagles busted out “Walk Away” towards the beginning of a set that featured a bevy of career-spanning hits as well as a handful of Walsh’s most famous songs.
