By Andy Kahn Jun 9, 2015 • 10:30 am PDT

Earlier this year Alabama Shakes issued their second album, Sound & Color on ATO Records. The resulting critical acclaim help land the record at No. 1 when it made its debut on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. Last evening Brittany Howard and crew were the musical guests on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, performing the Sound & Color closing track “Over My Head.”

The appearance showcased Howard’s raw and emotionally charged vocals as she performed sans-guitar. Backed by a trio of supporting vocalists, The Shakes delivered a moving, restrained performance for the audience gathered at 30 Rock.

Alabama Shakes also recently shared a video filmed by famed concert photographer and filmmaker Danny Clinch of their Sound & Color song “Don’t Wanna Fight.” Watch the live performance captured at Capitol Studios Studio A in Hollywood, California:
