Since David Letterman began his run as host of Late Night in 1982 there are certain performers he’s forged relationships with, leading to them making multiple appearances both on that show or during his time as host of The Late Show. Rock and Roll Hall Of Famer Tom Waits is one of those artists as the reclusive performer visited Letterman-hosted shows at least nine times. Yesterday we learned Waits will make one more visit to Letterman’s talk show during Dave’s final days as host of The Late Show.

Pitchfork reports Waits will both sit for an interview and perform on the May 14th episode of The Late Show. Tom’s Letterman finale comes during Dave’s penultimate week as host. In honor of Tom Waits’ final Letterman appearance, we’ve collected video featuring eight past appearances on Dave-hosted shows.
