Dumpstaphunk Plans Busy Jazz Fest

Dumpstaphunk and the band’s individual members have planned a number of appearances during the upcoming New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival season. This year will feature the band playing many venues across their hometown with a diverse array of collaborative lineups.

Dumpstaphunk will appear with special guests Chali 2na, Cyril Neville, Naughty Professor Horns, as well as Rebirth Brass Band and The Nth Power at The Howlin Wolf on Friday, April 22. The group’s set at the Fairgrounds as part of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival will feature Art Neville and Steeltown Horns on the afternoon of May 1 at the event’s Acura Stage. After their set, Dumpstaphunk will close out Jazz Fest at Tipitina’s featuring Steeltown Horns and special guests Jon Cleary & The Absolute Monster Gentleman and DJ Soul Sister.

Each of the five members of Dumpstaphunk will perform at various locales around NOLA, including Ivan Neville joining The Meters at the Orpheum Theater on April 22, Ian Neville with The Nth Power at One Eyed Jacks on April 28, Nick Daniels with Dr. Klaw at FIYA Fest and Bayou Rendezvous on April 27 and 29, Tony Hall with the New Orleans Soul Stars playing a James Brown Tribute on April 29 at Jazz Fest and Alvin Ford Jr. with Bonerama at Rock N’ Bowl on April 29.
