Dumpstaphunk Adds Led Zeppelin Tribute For Phunksgiving

Last week we told you about Dumpstaphunk’s upcoming return to New York City for a Thanksgiving Eve performance at BB King’s on November 26 featuring an interesting twist. Dumpstaphunk will present “Phunksgiving with Dumpstaphunk 70’s tribute to Sly & The Family Stone, The Meters, P-Funk, and other throwback legends” at the NYC club on Thanksgiving Eve. Today we’ve learned about another of those “throwback legends” Dumpstaphunk will honor next month.

Our friends at Live For Live Music & Equifunk, who have organized the concert, revealed that Led Zeppelin has been added to the list of classic ’70s funk acts Dumpstaphunk will pay tribute to this Thanksgiving Eve. While we never really considered Led Zeppelin a funk act, after hearing some of the Led Zeppelin tribute sets Dumpstaphunk laid down earlier this year, we think the legendary rockers’ songs will fit in well with tunes from the likes of Sly and the Family Stone, Parliament Funkadelic and The Meters. Tickets for the show are on sale now via Ticketmaster.
