Jamiroquai’s Jay Kay & Charli XCX Join Dua Lipa At Wembley Stadium

Dua Lipa’s Radical Optimism World Tour landed at London’s Wembley Stadium for a pair of shows held last Friday and Saturday nights. Each concert featured a special guest, as Jay Kay of Jamiroquai and Charli XCX emerged to perform one of their songs.

Radical Optimism Tour shows are presented as four separate acts and an encore. Lipa has regularly switched up the penultimate song of the second act to cover different songs, often tying in the location and, at times, singing in the local language.

Jay Kay, frontman of the British funk band Jamiroquai, emerged for the cover slot on Friday at Wembley. He then joined Lipa and her band for a performance of the 1996 hit “Virtual Insanity.” Friday’s guest spot was preceded by Lipa’s first performance of “Hotter Than Hell” since 2019.

Saturday’s second act cover selection was aided by the appearance of Charli XCX. Lipa teamed up with the British pop singer-songwriter on “360” from Charli’s 2024 album, Brat. The second night’s guest feature was also preceded by a tour debut coming in the form of Lipa’s first public offering of early favorite, “IDGAF,” since 2020.
