Drummer Hints At The Black Crowes Retirement

Those hoping The Black Crowes will soon come together again for another album and tour won’t be happy with drummer Steve Gorman’s comments in a new Rolling Stone article. Gorman says the likelihood of the band working together again is “as low as it’s ever been.”

Chris Robinson has spent the year with The Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Rich Robinson has his own solo band going, while Gorman has focused on Trigger Hippy in 2014. “I’m solely consumed with Trigger Hippy. I’m not at all interested in getting in a room and trying to figure out Black Crowes music. That doesn’t do anything for me. I’m just so thrilled that [Trigger Hippy] is where it is,” Gorman told Rolling Stone. “And I can’t speak for Rich or Chris, but I’m fairly confident that’s how they are with their things. We’ve done right by what the Black Crowes were and I think everybody is very happy to be looking forward to different things.”

Gorman also said, “We could obviously all see things differently in a year, but I’ll be surprised if the Black Crowes do something again. Ever.” That’s perhaps the strongest statement to date that we’ve seen the last of The Black Crowes. We really hope that’s not the case.
