Dropkick Murphys will play a concert at an empty Fenway Park in Boston that will be livestreamed for free. Bruce Springsteen will appear remotely as a special guest during the show slated for May 29.
Billed as Streaming Outta Fenway, due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic there be no audience in the stands at the ballpark where Dropkick Murphys have performed on several occasions. With the Boston Red Sox and the rest of Major League Baseball’s season on hold due to COVID-19, Dropkick Murphys will for the first time be allowed to perform from the “sacred ground” of the Fenway’s infield dirt. Springsteen will participate in a special “double play” collaboration, performing one of his songs and a song by Dropkick Murphys.
Dropkick Murphys previously presented the Streaming Up From Boston St. Patrick’s Day livestream. The Streaming Outta Fenway livestream will be available on Friday, May 29 at 6 p.m. ET on Dropkick Murphys’ Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Twitch accounts and the JamBase Livestreams Calendar. There will be a text-to-donate campaign available during Streaming Outta Fenway that will support the non-profit organizations Boston Resiliency Fund, Feeding America and Greater Boston Habitat For Humanity.
