Down On The Bayou | Dr. John, Members Of Widespread Panic

Down In The Bayou VI: A Benefit For The New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic will take place at Republic in New Orleans on April 30 during Jazz Fest. Dr. John, John Bell, Jimmy Herring, John “Jojo” Hermann, Dave Schools and Domingo “Sunny” Ortiz will perform at the concert. The show will also feature Duane Trucks, Marcia Ball, Col. Bruce Hampton, (Ret.), Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Ivan Neville, Oteil Burbridge, Christine Ohlman, Big Chief Juan Pardo of the Yellow Pocahontas Tribe, John “Papa” Gros, Alfred “Uganda” Roberts, Papa Mali, Eric Bolivar, Billy Iuso and Sherman Ewing. More special guests will be announced in the coming weeks.

Down In The Bayou is part of the 4th annual Nolafunk Jazzfest Series. Another new addition to the series is a James Brown Dance Party at Republic on April 26. The show will feature funk powerhouse opening act The Nth Power featuring Nigel Hall, Nikki Glaspie, Nick Cassarino, Nate Edgar & Weedie Braimah. The James Brown Dance Party will feature Nigel Hall (vocals) of Lettuce/Nth Power, Rob Mercurio (bass) of Galactic, Pete Murano (guitar) of Trombone Shorty, Jennifer Hartswick (trumpet) of Trey Anastasio Band, Corey Henry (trombone) of Galactic, Eric Bolivar (drums) of Tab Benoit. Additional special guests are expected to be announced soon.

Tickets for both shows so on sale to the general public this Friday, February 27 at 12 p.m. CT.
