By Scott Bernstein Nov 30, 2016 2:06 pm PST

Dopapod lighting designer and sound engineer Luke Stratton has launched The Light Side, a new podcast. Stratton will talk with various lighting designers, directors and programmers from within the live music industry to discuss life on the road, what makes them tick and the tools they use to practice their craft.

Luke enlisted Umphrey’s McGee LD Jefferson Waful as the guest on the just released first installment of The Light Side. Waful and Stratton discuss preparation and design, equipment, console layout and Jeff’s journey into the world of lighting design, among other topics. Look for new installments each month. Upcoming guests are expected to include Greg “The Laser Shark” Ellis of Pretty Lights, Saxton Waller of ROY G BIV Light and Show Design (STS9), and Michael Smalley of Twin Designs (Bassnectar, Pitbull).

The Light Side is available via Luke’s website and on iTunes, Google Play, and Soundcloud.
